In Act 1 and 2 he is really insecure and doesnt know, whats real and whats not. Also he doesnt know what to do and how to act. Hamlet Characterization crazy? O O Later he gets confident in what to do for example he organized the play to find out, if Claudius ist guilty In Act 3 he struggled again because he really wants to get his revenge but he wants the right moment to kill Claudius →he spared Claudius because he was praying But thenhe thought it was the right moment to kill Claudius, because he thought that he observes him. So he kills Polonius because he thought it was Claudius. Also he ist more and more upset because of Claudius and Gertrudes' behavior In Act 4 Hamlet returns from his trip because he is now sure that he really has to get his revenge (fortinbras inspired him). Than in Act 5 he accepts the duel and is sure that he can handle it while the duel everyrthing changed but he now knows what to do and kills Claudius also he got his peace with laertes and dies peaceful he got the revenge for his father so he did his duty
