Starr asks Khalil if there is anything in the car that they should be worried about. 1 Starr spots the officer's badge number: 'One-Fifteen'. When he asks them where they are coming from, Khalil just answers 'nunya'. The officer asks Khalil to get out of the car. E Khalil opens the car door to ask Starr if she is okay. Then, the officer shoots him three times. The officer shines his flashlights at their faces and asks for registration. Khalil asks back why they were stopped in the first place. B Starr rushes around the other side of the car. The officer tells her not to move. He points his gun at her and she puts up her hands. D After he hasn't found anything in the car, the officer tells Khalil to stay where he is and walks back to the police car. Starr hopes that Khalil will not make any sudden movements. Starr remembers the talk she had with her father when she was 12 on how to behave when you are stopped by the police. A teenager was killed by a police officer yesterday. Khalil was in his car with his friend when a police officer stopped the car to ask for the registration. When Khalil kept asking the policeman the reason for the stop, the policeman asked him to get out of the car and not to move. Khalil wanted. to ask his friend in the car if everything was alright and made a sudden movement, whereupon the police officer shot him. This is not the first time that a black person has been shot by the police for no reason, just because he is black, which gives the police the impression that he is a thug. Until when should we keep our mouths shut? Until when should we ignore the struggles of the black community? And why are no charges being brought against the police officer? This has to stop because the black community is a part of this. country and has the same right as any other human being.
