Characteristics Equality, happiness, peace, safety - Better living conditions - Scientific progress - Paradise-like - Utopia and Dystopia Education for everyone - Pecaeful government -> optimistic about the future society Developments in an Utopian world End all wars, conflicts, crises and terrorism - High technological standart around the globe - All basic needs will be covered for everyone Democratic world order - Living in harmony with nature - Social mobility - "living in an utopian world" Economy based on sustainability and renewable resources Local production of food in an eco-friendly way - Modernization of infrastrucutre Political system based on equality, peace and health - Non-violent, non-threatening and successful ways to enfroce these ideals Cultural diversity →> great emphasis on sustainability and equality Examples for science and technology genetic engineering Also called genetic modification - process of changing or altering DNA in an organism to create a transformation selmaknow unity Transgenic plants/foods Food produced from organisms that have had changes introduced into their DNA - Using genetic engineering + Faster and cheaper production -> more food could decrase poverty -> faster trade could improve the economy + Quality of food could increase →> taste, looks + Higher resistance against diseases and extreme weather -> successful harvest more likely - Not enough knowledge about genetically modified (GM) food -> unexpected effects and risks (e.g. allergic reactions) - Pesticide resistance arises -> bacteria might get resistant...
