He says that he wants to have a liquor store and Mama is of the opinion that he shouldn't speak about that again. So nobody doesn't want to talk about it. Then Walter wants to go out and Ruth wants to come with him, but he doesn't want it and Mama holds him back and wants to talk with him. She thinks that he shouldn't only think about money and liquor all the time and says that he has lots of things in his life, like a good job, good wife, freedom and a good look But Walter doesn't like his job. After he gets the information that Ruth gets a second baby he thinks that she wouldn't do everything for his family. But Ruth would do this. So Mama is very disappointed of him.
