As well politically as socially, the world was further behind and shaped by anti-social restrictions. Furthermore there were less financial opportunities to protect one's money to enable the dream of financial self. In contrast to 1931 a social progress in the matter of racism is clearly recognizable, because there is more equality than to this time. Today America is also much Safer from crime and government protection. Additionally, the educational system is more extensive in terms of content and in other respeds, which is beneficial for the realization of one's American Dream". Moreover, the global economic crisis was currently at the height of it's effects, so high high unemployment and impoverishment. So far, the dream was much further from america, but it cannot be called a nightmare either. Such a kind of nightmare would be more like the time around 1931 and not the current one, given the aspects mentioned.
