1 1 די די די - Ruth Never let me go. go Ruth is a main character in the novel :,,Never let me Written by Kazuo Ishiguro, published in 2005. She is a close childhood friend from Kathy H and Tommy, the two other main characters. Ruth is a donor and she dies after her third donation. She is a very dominant and outspoken person (cf. P. 16 ll 10-15). In the realationship between Kathy, Tommy and her, she is the leader and influence their Secret love to each other (cf. P. 233. Ill. 9-10). Also she is a very moody and meau person lof. 2.54.30-2.55 ll. 8.) As a natural leader she tries to convince. the other students and only stopps, when they all think the Same like her (cf. P. 42 1.1, P.42 ll. 10-17, P. 43 ll 21-26). She also invents storys to pretent, that she is better than she actually is (of. P. 65 ll 10-34). Ruth is emotionall because of the future but Norfolk gives her, Kathy and Tommy a feeling of a comfort Zone (cf. P. 75 lt. 19-22). Her realationship with Tommy influenced him a lot and he changes. Ruth is also jealous about the secret love between Tommy. and Ruth, be cause of that feeling. she is really mean to Kathy (cf. P. 180 ll. 5-33). At the time beeing a donor Ruth had prob- lems with many many carers, because of her moody character (cf. P. 211 ll. 19-27). Kathy decids to care for Ruth and they booth come closer together. Unfortunately is very sick after her Second donation and so Kathy and her search for Tommy Ruth tries to apologize for S S EEEEEEE All 5 tearing apart Tommy and Kathy (cf. 233 ll. 9-12). She shows her emotional side again and is very full filled one's debt. Summarizing is Ruth a very outspoklen, jealous and moody Person. In the realationship of the three main characters. she is very dominant and influences them. She is a natural leader and convinces everybody. Ruth is a important character of the novel, because the novel is about the live of the students in Hailsham and specialy about Kathy Tommy and Ruth and their realationship.
