Characterisation Atticus Finch In the following text the character Atticus Finch, from the novel ,,To kill a Mockingbird", written by Harper Lee will be characterized. The novel is about the living conditions in the southern states of the USA, here is told about the childhood of Scout and Jem. However, the focus is on the trial of the black Tom Roobinson. Atticus Finch is the father of Scout and Jem. He is nearly fifty years old in the novel. He has one brother (Jack Finch) and two sisters. (Alexandra and Caroline Finch). He is a lawyer. Atticus never went to school. He broke his family tradition by studying law. Atticus met his wife when he was first elected to the state legislature. He met her when he was middle- aged. She was 15 years older than her. (p. 6, L 26). He has a very reasonable personality. He played with his children. He is very kind and he lets the Cumminghams pay in whichever ways they want, not necessarily with money. Atticus has a very flexible point of view and he always tries to see everything from different perspectives. Most people in Maycomb make fun of him because he has a good behavior with black people and doesn't act racist, but they still respect Atticus a lot. He alsways tries to focus on the...
