Especially the dystopia shows what a cruel future humanity could be aiming for. - Sport, sex and shopping is the own interest -> love, feelings are suppressed and by the Soma everyone is happy a dystopia that includes a utopian imagination - people have no individuality anymore - the system controls the people - people who question the system break the stability and are not wanted -> are sent to lonely islands - there is no democracy but a totalitarian regime of 10 world controllers - People are kept away from nature · One is forced to be happy Brave new world Several aspects of the new world all grey States motto: Community, identity and stability - every aspect of society follows the motto - everyone belongs to everyone - high buildings, 18 floors - less nature, lifeless - cold rooms, outside warm summer blue, frozen light no families, children are cloned and conditioned - less individuals, everybody the same - people like machines I all people must work and have no free time (p.49) - poor children (p.49) - not everybody in BNW is a clone, alphas and betas are individuals different buildings for different work - at 8 o'clock the light goes out - between buildings and reservations there are many trains and helicopters to transport people - big cities - Inhuman way because the gases from the crematoriums get sold, it is normal there - Only the lower classes work there like Epsilons, Deltas and Gammas In BNW every class is important for social life like in reality (Epsilons are very useful) - The aim is, that everybody in BNW is happy, but this is not easy and everyone gets taught The life Your caste determines the way you live The caste is predetermined (vorbestimmt), you can not change it or decide for yourself. - If the people take the drug soma, the world is good - All very impersonal ("good night" comes from speakers) There are no families or relationships - No couples Some people (the savages) live out of the society in many different reservations - No escape from a Savage Reservation, because the people were born there and should die there - The civilizations are separated with a frontier.
