Chances to Challenges AND Chances → money from natural ressources / oil which could be invested to support the people of Nigeria (infrastructure, education...) → rich culture & traditions clothing, food manners, Pidgin English as merger of different cultures within Nigeria, Nollywood music industry → the most important economical power in Africa → job opportunities: oil industry, film industry, construction..... → creative opportunities in film industry: Nollywood as economic factor → low average age → official language: English → easier for them to communicate internationally. → history: they are part of the Commonwealth, historical links to financially and politically powerful countries Like England, Canada, Australia Challenges →gab between rich and poor in the educational system: poorly facilitated public schools & expensive private school → money from natural ressources gets lost, is not invested in public well-being → Boko Haram: islamic terrorist group which abducts (female) students and terrorizes by using violence, mostly in north least of Nigeria, trying to take over government →desertification → religious power abuse (especially in rural areas) → corruption (police, politics) → police violence /S.A.R.S. → bad living conditions (gap between rich and poor, child labour) → censorship (Twitter banned for several months) → a lot of unemployment (especially among young people) →no equality of gender yet (child marriage, genital mutilation) →overpopulation → pollution of environment (by international oil companies) → exploitation...
