Concluding Your Presentation
This final section provides guidance on how to effectively conclude a presentation, offering various examples and phrases for wrapping up your talk.
The guide suggests ways to signal the end of the main content, such as "Okay, that ends the third part of my talk" or "That's all I want to say for now on..." It then moves on to how to summarize the key points of the presentation, recommending phrases like "To sum up..." or "Well, that concludes my presentation for today. We've talked about..."
Example: "To sum up, we have seen that... In my opinion, we should... I recommend that we..."
The section also covers how to invite questions from the audience and how to thank them for their attention. For instance, "Now we have half an hour for questions and discussion" or "Thank you very much for your attention."
Importantly, it provides advice on how to handle questions, including difficult ones. For example, if you don't know the answer, you could say "I'm afraid I'm unable to answer that at the moment. Perhaps I can get back to you later."
These tips for students giving presentations can help them conclude their talks professionally and handle the Q&A session with confidence.
