The American Dream dreams in general dreams at night dealing with events of the day. = not real = imaginary series of events that you have in mind. while sleeping dreams about = wish = not real situation of event you often think about and would like it to happen (your goals) day dreams = imagination of events/ situations. during the day = when you are awake = not real • nightmares = bad dream future dealing with negative events / situations. What is the American Dream? (AD) = dreams of · better and richer life for everybody opportunities for everybody social order = belief in · liberty and equality. (= trust in the government) → democracy success → believe in yourself. = based on Am. values • freedom (personal) democracy equality patriotism (= love of your country) education → the key to reach your potential self-improvement Reality vs. Dreams in Am.
