18) -Peeta Mellark, the bakers son is also selected for the games -after the tribute selection called reaping, Katniss and Peeta got taken away by train to the capitol - in the capitol the tributes were prepared and primped for live TV and for the Games - The support team Haymitch: a Hunger Game winner from district 12 (also a drunk), Effie + their wrangler, Cinna and Portia → their stylists - for the opening ceremonies, Cinna and Portia have the job to dress Katniss and Peeta in conspicuos costumes - they wear black clothes and a cape which was suppose to lit up - these costumes draw a lot attention to them both دا - the next days the tributes have training sessions to get prepared -Katniss shows her archery skills to the gamemakers and scores 11 out of 12 points, Peeta gets a lover scoore -after that Peeta ask to be coached seperately - in a Interview before the games Peeta announces that he has a big crush on Katniss since they were kids (is it just a. strategy?) Katniss think it is to gain audience support and sponsors and it works well, she plays along Part 2: The Games -all 24 of the tributes are transported to the arena to fight they start standing in a circle and have to wait 60 seconds - in the middle is a cornucopia, a giant golden horn shaped like a cone with a curved tail - in the mouth of this, which is twenty feet high are a lot of things for the tributes to survive -Katniss spotted a bow and arrows but she missed it and just got a backpack Katniss is on her own at first, she discovers that Peeta has teamed up with the career Tributes (the strong kids from the rich districts who actually want to fight in the Hunger Games) after they killed a girl -Vatniss is always sleeping in trees but the career group found her one day while she was sitting on a tree, the others were sitting under the tree but Katniss got a hint from a little girl on the tree next to her ↳ - there was a tracker Jacker nest ( genetically mutated killer wasp) those wasps killed two girls after that Katniss took the bow and arrows from one of the dead girls, Peeta saw her and protected her from one of the careers be of the stiches from the wasps Katniss fellt in some kind of koma -after two days Katniss woke up and she teams up with this other girl named Pule, who reminds her of her sister Prim -the girls are able to take out the career Tributes' food supply, which was protected with traps and mines this totally infuriates their leader, Cato -Peeta doesn't appear to be teamed up with them anymore (what happend to him?) after that Katniss was searching for Rue, she was killed by one of the career which was instantly killed by Katniss -While Rue was dieing in her arms Katniss sings her a song after that she honors the body by covering it with flowes → it was also a provocative message to the gamemakers - after the death, the announcer wanting to bring back the romance story and changes the rulest▷ two people from a single District can now win - before she can stop herself, Vatniss calls out Peetas name Part 3: The Victor -Katniss goes hunting for Peeta and finds him - he is wounded and cappuflaged in the muddy bank of - Katniss nurses him pack to health and realizes that by playing up the romance angle, they can get gifts from sponsors -bu. it was getting boring for the gamemakers decide to give a gift to every District where the people are still alive, but they're all in the middle of the are - some time later Katniss and Peeta must face of with cato, the only other surviving tribute -but before that they. a stream are all pursued by wild dogs which are actually genetically mutatet killing machines - to protect them selves they climbed up the golden cone - it's a quite long fight against Cato and the wild dogs, Finally Katniss shoots Cato and he falls into the pack -They think they have won now, urong -an announcer comes back on and says the rules have changed back: only one winner allowed - the fact that they can't kill eachother is clear - they make a show of taking poisonous berries in an act of double suicide -before they kill themselves the announcer comes back and says that they both win - back in the Capitol both keep up the star-crossed lovers rutine for the post-games reunion and interview - Haymiton told Katniss that this is the only way to keep from being punished by the capitol for the rebellious trick with the double suicide - on the way home Katniss figures out that Pecta really is in love with her, he wasn't acting at all - he figured out that she wasn't ever in love with him - back in District 12, they put on a happy face for the camera, take each other's hands and step onto the platform
