Yosemite National Park In the USA there are many National Parks. A National Park is a large area of natural land protected by the government. Its natural beauty, special plants or special animals, that live there, get protected. UNTED STRIPS DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERE YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK The most visited National Park is the Yosemite National Park with about 3.9 million visitors every year. The area, 3081 square kilometres, is covered with wilderness by 95%. Altogether there are about 560 kilometres of streets, 1300 kilometres of trails and rivers with a total length of 2600 kilometres. The Yosemite National Park is home to many miracles of nature. Noteworthy are the waterfalls, like the Upper Yosemite Fall, which is with 740 metres the highest waterfall in the USA, or the volcanos. There are also a wide variety of flowers (1400 different types), trees (37 different types), birds (250 different types), mammals (80 different types) and reptiles (20 different types). There are many big fires in the Park through the year, an event often covered by the media. For the fire brigade it's very difficult to fight against them. However, there is also good fire which is carefully managed and for example clears the Park from unsafe crowds of dead and down wood or removes smaller trees. The Park has a long history.
